Kalyan Ram has been trying to do something new for a long time, but success favors him on rare occasions."118 "is his latest attempt to try his hand in the genre of cinematographer K V Guhan's investigative thriller.It's quite interesting the concept. Hero getting dreams on the full moon night and seeing a girl's vision intrigues us in the beginning. We are also interested in his investigative mission to trace her. The first half is sufficiently racy to hook us to the screen and nothing new is shown.The so-called main twist or core plot of the film, however, is too formulaic. For many thrillers, films dealing with pharmaceutical scams or medical scams and a character landing in trouble has become a standard template. Despite the racy screenplay and the attempt by the director to focus solely on the story with no deviation from the main plot, we are not excited by the big twist. But the film's main points are its performance and lean runtime.But there is almost no romantic track between Kalyan Ram and Shalini Pandey. This is the film's negative aspect. The mother roles of Shalini Pandey and Kalyan Ram are just like props in the scene. Also Kalyan Ram was not supposed to be presented as an action star. He doesn't look at all like a journalist. All in all, "118" is a neat thriller with some decent early sequences. Although there is nothing new in it, it does not bore us either, it is interested in racy narrative.
