    Lalita Pawar remains one of the top talented actresses to have ever graced the Indian silver screen. Even after more than 2 decades since her demise, Lalita Pawar is remembered for many of her iconic roles in some of Bollywood’s most popular and super hit Hindi movies, especially between 1940s and 1970s.

    Lalita Pawar was born on the 18th of April, 1916 in Nashik, Maharashtra and passed away on 24th February, 1988 in Pune, Maharashtra, when Lalita Pawar’s age was almost 82 years. Lalita Pawar’s heights was around 5 ft 5 inches (167 cm) while Lalita Pawar’s weight was around 58 kg (128 lbs). In her spare time, Lalita Pawar loved to cook or travel, as part of her hobbies.

    Although not much is known about Lalita Pawar’s family, we do know that Lalita Pawar’s father was Laxmanrao Sagun, an affluent silk and cotton merchant, from Nashik, Maharashtra. Lalita Pawar was focused on becoming an actress in the initial days of Indian cinema and earned her first role as a child artist in India’s first ever movie ‘Raja Harishchandra’ (1928).

    Although Lalita Pawar had initially married Ganpatrao Pawar, the couple filed for divorce within a few years. Later on, Lalita Pawar’s husband was Rajprakash Gupta, a film producerm with whom she was married to till her demise in 1998.

    For her excellent acting skills, Lalita Pawar received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress award for her role in ‘Anari’ (1959).

    Lalita Pawar was also awarded the 1961 Sangeet Natak Academi Award for Acting.
