SYNOPSIS	Simply put, if you miss binge-watching CID or Crime Patrol, Saavat will fill the void.
STORY	A village! Seven Suicides! Seven years from now! Always in the rains month! Witnesses to the seven eyes! They were all branded with morbid messages by Iron! They all saw somebody, somebody, who shouldn't be there! A cop is going to seek answers! A story that explores the psyche of man! Love, Loyalty, Betrayal, Revenge, Fear, Anger, Despair, Anguish, Grief, Devotion, Fury, Truthfulness, Vengeance, Rage, and finally Closure! Saavat-a saga of human emotions filled with twin pulls of traditional society morality and the desire for closure of individuals.Superstition is still very much prevalent in many villages in India and is used to put women down. In an attempt to taint her character and squash her journey to success, she is often labeled as a witch or worse. This label is then endorsed with make-believe stories that gather momentum as they are shared. SAAVAT is one such journey of a woman, who overcomes her personal anguish to deliver justice to another woman trapped in an unspeakable story of deceit and deception.
ANALYSIS	Saurabh Sinha's directorial Saavat has written predictability all over it, featuring Smita Tambe as a cop. Although the story looks interesting, there's nothing but the viewer experience.ACP Aditi Deshmukh (Tambe) is approached in his village by an elder from a neighboring village after cracking a murder case like it's child's play. While these deaths were passed off as suicides, the old man believes that they were the work of a woman named Aashni (Shwetambari Guthe), who is a witch according to the villagers. Even the local Atul policeman (Milind Shirole) feels that in this case there's something fishy. Soon, the case will be cracked by ACP Deshmukh and her team. This film's teasers made it look like a mysterious thriller making the audience sit up and take note. Saavat is disappointing the big time, though! This one appears more than a film as a badly-made crime show where logic is secondary. While Smita Tambe is channeling her inner Sherlock here, ACP Pradyuman could have solved the case at hand easily. Smita tries her best to play the tough and determined cop, but ends up turning it into a caricature. The lesser said, the better, as for the other actors, their performances range from childish to over - the-top and barring Shwetambari, none of them stand out. Shwetambari is not brilliant, but better than the others.
