STORY | As an honest and ethical police officer, inspector Kirti Marathe Patil (Pooja Raibagi) has to deal with the kingpin of all illegal activities in her area Pankaj.Kirti is trying to head on the illegal activities of Pankaj. However, Pankaj's father (Sayaji Shinde) is a minister of the state cabinet, making Kriti's struggle harder as she encounters difficulties— including proving her innocence when fake allegations are leveled at her. The plot continues towards her goal with her inching. The lack of research shows as the story moves forward. This cop does everything against the standard procedures — right from barging without a search warrant in the suspect's house, patrolling around without adequate back-up, to wasting state-issued arsenal on needless firing. In addition, the film's hard-to-understand dialogs work against it.Is she going to succeed in her mission? |
ANALYSIS | Strategizing and implementing a plan to take down a criminal helps keep viewers on the edge of their seats for a good crime drama. But if the elimination of this crucial part, intrinsic to the genre, all that remains is a simplistic approach to a complex subject. Tandav is one of the prime examples.the performances, Pooja shows spark, but, thanks to the jaded script, she largely remains unimpressive. In his role as Hawaldar Patil, a seasoned actor like Arun Nalawade is wasted, as is Sayaji, who is seen in a brief role.It's a good story, strong screenplay or execution, Tandav remains an unimpressive film altogether. |
